Product Care
Fabric Upholstery
Protect from direct sunlight and direct heat.
Rotate reversible cushions regularly and vacuum using the low suction setting and the soft brush accessory of the vacuum.
Wipe the surface gently with a clean damp cloth and treat spills and stains as soon as possible.
Do not scrub, but gently scrape soil or mop liquid from the surface. Avoid heavy soiling caused by perspiration, hair oil, footwear and pets.
Always test cleaners on an inconspicuous area before use on the entire furniture area.
Feather Fill
Did you know that when purchasing a feather-filled lounge suite, it is a natural occurrence for your cushions to look ‘limp’ after being sat on?
This is not a fault or imperfection. All feather fill lounges – seats and backs – should be regularly maintained by “plumping up”.
To maintain your seat and back cushions looking as lovely and full as the floor model you sighted, you’ll need to be prepared to give them a good plumping. If you are not prepared to do this, then steer clear of feather and fibre fills.
Feather will flatten when sat on, and its selling feature is its wonderfully soft comfort.
The best way to plump your seats and cushions is to remove them from the sofa and ‘rough’ them up by pushing down on the back seat cushion with a hitting motion, or by dropping the cushions on a clean floor to allow the feathers to move around. This pushes the air back into the cushion, helping maintain its shape and comfort.
Mattress
Mattresses are designed to be used on a firm, flat or slatted surface, with gaps no wider than 7cm. Use on a spring base, adjustable base, or any base that does not adequately support the mattress will void the 10-year limited warranty.
Adequate support is required across both the width and length of the mattress.
Ensure there is grounded support for the mattress throughout the middle, not just at the edges.
Maximum weight per individual sleeper is 120kg. Anything above this weight will void the 10-year limited warranty.
Body Contouring
Our mattresses are designed to contour naturally to your body shape. This contouring helps reduce pressure points and supports a longer, healthier night’s sleep.
As most people tend to sleep in the same or a similar position each night, it is normal for your mattress to show impressions in these areas. Contouring in the heavier areas of your body, from the hips to the shoulders, will be more noticeable and is quite normal.
To increase the longevity of your mattress, it is recommended that you rotate it regularly, approximately 2–4 times per year.
Rotation Instructions
For single-sided mattresses, grasp the mattress corners and spin the mattress clockwise 180 degrees across the base.
The Do’s
- Do dispose of your plastic bags immediately.
- Do plan to keep your mattress dry. Protect it from water and other fluids.
- Do use a mattress protector.
- Do rotate your mattress. This should be done every 2 weeks for the first 3 months, then once every 2 months after that. One-sided mattresses should only be rotated and not flipped.
The Don’ts
- Don’t ever use dry-cleaning fluid of any type on your mattress. Chemicals will damage some of the construction materials.
- Don’t let anyone stand or jump on your mattress.
- Don’t flip one-sided mattresses. Rotate only.
- Don’t lift the mattress from the handles. They are there for positioning your mattress only, not for lifting the full weight of the mattress.
- Don’t ever place this mattress near open flames or expose it to fire.
- Don’t use the edges of your mattress as a sitting surface. This will cause damage to the springs and foundation.
- Don’t bend your mattress under any circumstances, unless the mattress is designed to be used on an adjustable base. This may damage the innerspring unit. Flex rather than bend the mattress when going through doorways.
- Don’t remove the label or law tag from your mattress. This serves as a means of identification to establish your warranty or guarantee.
- Don’t place a board between your mattress and foundation. Your sleep set is specially designed to provide you with the correct support. Follow the leg and castor instructions for the foundation.
Leather
Do not dry clean or machine wash.
Do not use detergents, solvents, abrasives, non-recommended leather cleaners or suede cleaners.
Protect from direct sunlight and heat sources, both direct and through heating vents.
Vacuum regularly with the soft brush attachment to remove dust and grit, then wipe with a soft, colour-fast cloth as necessary or at least every 2–3 weeks.
When cleaning leather, do not rub excessively or too hard. Always let the product do the work and adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Use only a soft, colour-fast or white cloth or sponge.
In warm or humid weather, it is important that leather be wiped over weekly, particularly if it has become damp with perspiration or deposits of body oils.
Always clean along any creases that have developed in the leather and pay particular attention to areas that come in contact with the skin, such as headrests, arm pads and seat cushions.
Timber
Dust frequently with a clean, damp, lint-free cloth. This will help remove abrasive build-up which can damage the timber finish over time.
Occasionally use a light application of a high-quality furniture polish to enhance the beauty of the fine finish. Avoid using oil polishes or waxes.
Always use a coaster when placing hot items on furniture.
Avoid exposing your furniture to direct sunlight, heat, open windows or dampness.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can fade the finish of your furniture, while extreme temperature and humidity changes can cause cracking or splitting.
Do not expose your furniture to any liquids. Never allow water to sit on your furniture as this can cause swelling and splitting.
Chemicals like alcohol, nail polish and perfume are also dangerous because they can dissolve the finish on contact and may require professional repairs.
Do not allow plastic to come in direct contact with your furniture. Chemicals in the plastic can soften and damage the finish if left in contact with the furniture for a prolonged period.
