The Wholesale Furniture Co. is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our Distribution Centres across Stapylton, Townsville, and Darwin.
This is a hands-on leadership role where no two days are the same. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you'll help ensure our Distribution Centres operate safely, efficiently, and deliver an outstanding experience for both our customers and team members.
About the Role
As the Assistant Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating warehouse operations, logistics, safety, and team performance across multiple sites. You'll be equally comfortable working on the warehouse floor and managing the administrative functions that keep the operation running smoothly.
When the Operations Manager is away, you'll confidently step into the leadership role to ensure the Distribution Centre continues to operate efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the day-to-day leadership of the Distribution Centre team.
- Leading by example and fostering a positive, high-performance team culture.
- Assisting with receiving, picking, dispatch, and general warehouse operations.
- Coordinating workflow to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Preparing operational reports and analysing warehouse performance.
- Assisting with rostering, labour planning, and timesheet approvals.
- Supporting inventory accuracy and stock control processes.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Coaching and developing team members while maintaining high performance standards.
- Providing exceptional customer service by resolving issues promptly and professionally.

Availability
As a furniture retailer operating seven days a week, this role requires flexibility to work varied days, including regular weekend work.
